One of my favourite family indulgences which lifts the soul and warms the heart! My children absolutely love this dessert and is my own personal recipe!
INGREDIENTS
5 large apples of your choice, my preference Pink lady, peeled and chopped into small pieces
3 tbsp of orange juice
1 tsp of vanilla bean paste
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt or celtic salt
CRUMBLE
2 cups of organic rolled oats
½ cup of coconut flakes
50g organic coconut oil
¼ cup of rice malt syrup
Pinch of sea salt
1 tsp of cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 180C or 160C fan
Place the apples in a saucepan and add orange juice, vanilla bean paste, 2 tsp cinnamon and sea salt. Slowly cook on a medium heat until apples are just soft. Then place into a baking dish or pie dish.
To make the crumple, combine the crumble ingredients in a bowl and mix well until it reaches a sandy moist texture.
Spread the crumble over the apples and place in the oven.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with a dollop of fresh cream, coconut yoghurt or Greek Yoghurt.
